Fair questions.
The ones every owner asks before they forward their number. Shortest honest answers we have. If yours isn’t here, call the demo line and ask it, or ask us.
What do callers get told?
That the line is recorded. It comes in the greeting, in the same breath as your business name: “Hi there, thanks for calling Chuckwalla Electric, this is Dani on a recorded line.” It will not claim to be you or to be a person if someone asks it directly, and anyone who would rather talk to a human gets one, handed off live or called back by your rules.
Will it sound like a robot?
Call it and judge for yourself. That is the whole reason the demo line is public. It pauses, it gets interrupted, it does not read a script at you.
Can it answer in my own voice?
Yes. Send us two or three recordings totaling a minute or two and the business answers in your voice. It still will not claim to be you if a caller asks who they are speaking to.
What happens with a real emergency?
You decide what counts as urgent for your business and who gets those calls. Ringdown recognizes it, reaches that person, and speaks the summary to whoever picks up. Anything life-threatening goes to 911.
What if it gets a question it cannot answer?
It says so plainly, takes a complete message with the name, number and what they need, and flags the call. It cannot invent a price, an opening or advice. Everything it says comes from what you gave us.
What if it gets something wrong?
You will have heard it handle your own scenarios before it went live, and you can change a rule any time by telling us. If a call goes sideways, the transcript shows exactly what happened and we fix the cause, not the symptom.
Do I have to change my number?
No. Your number stays yours. Forwarding is a switch you flip: all the time, after a few rings, after hours only, or only when your lines are busy. Flip it back whenever you like.
Do I need an app or a login?
No. It runs on the phone line you already have. Bookings land in the calendar you already use and the confirmation goes to the caller by text.
How does booking actually work?
It checks real availability in your calendar or booking system, takes the slot, and texts the caller their confirmation. If you would rather approve everything first, it can hold requests for you instead.
What languages does it speak?
Dozens, and it switches mid-conversation if the caller does. Spanish on the same line as English is the common one. Included on every plan.
How many calls can it take at once?
All of them. Ten callers in the same minute each get answered as though they were the only one. No hold queue, no busy signal.
How long does it take to get running?
We collect what your receptionist needs to know, build it, then hand you a private number to call before any customer hears it. Most lines are ready to test within a few days. Setup is a one time $500 — $0 through December 31 while the current offer runs.
What if I go over my minutes?
You pay the overage rate on your plan, between 30 and 40 cents a minute. Every plan includes far more minutes than most businesses use, and if you are consistently over we will tell you to move up rather than let the overage run.
Am I locked into a contract?
No contract. It runs month to month and cancelling takes thirty days’ notice, so you are never signing up for a year. Your number, your recordings and your call records are yours to take with you.
Still deciding? Don’t take our word for any of it.
